How the AI Thinks

This guide explains the "thinking loop" of the Hestia AI Brain and how it observes, plans, and validates its actions before touching your smart home.

The Thinking Loop

  1. The Snapshot: Before the AI starts thinking, it takes a "snapshot" of your home's current status (e.g., "The bedroom light is ON, the temperature is 72°").
  2. The Plan: The AI Brain uses this snapshot to create a plan. For example, if you say "I'm going to sleep," it might plan to "Turn off the bedroom light and set the temperature to 68°."
  3. The Reality Check: This is our most advanced safety feature. Just before the AI sends the command, it looks at the snapshot again. If anything has changed (like you manually turned the light OFF while the AI was thinking), the AI realizes its plan is based on old information and will stop immediately to avoid mistakes.
  4. The Security Gate: If everything matches, the command is sent to the Smart Shield for final safety verification before being sent to the device.

By requiring the AI to "prove" it knows exactly what's happening right now, we eliminate the risk of the AI making decisions based on stale or incorrect information.
